Raycell® Mk2 X-ray

Transfusion associated graft versus host disease (TA-GVHD) is one of the most serious complications of blood transfusion. It is a clinical symptom group similar to anti-host disease caused by bone marrow transplantation, which occurs after blood recipients are transfused with blood or blood components containing immunocompetent lymphocytes (mainly T lymphocytes), with the mortality rate as high as 90% ~ 100%. Human platelets or fresh blood are mixed with lymphocytes. When this allogeneic blood or blood components containing a large number of immunocompetent lymphocytes are transfused into immunocompromised patients, it can cause "transfusion-related graft-versus-host disease" (TAGVHD), which can lead to the death of patients in severe cases. Irradiating blood or blood products with radioactive rays can effectively inactivate T lymphocytes with immune activity in blood. Transfusion of irradiated blood or blood components can effectively prevent the occurrence of TA-GVHD and make blood transfusion safer. Raycell® Mk2 is the latest generation of X-ray blood irradiator. The horizontal uniformity and volume uniformity of blood irradiation are greatly improved by two horizontally opposed X-ray tubes. Abandoning the traditional complex operation, users can know the progress of irradiation at any time only by monitoring the irradiation time. The barcode scanning system based on IPDM system makes the data input concise, efficient and error-free. Raycell® Mk2 X-ray blood irradiator is safe, efficient, easy to operate and excellent in dose uniformity, which is the best choice for blood irradiation to prevent TA-GVHD.
